Description

This course will help participants to understand the value of social media in providing a range of tools to help you back into work. You will learn in a fun, informative, hands-on way how set up a LinkedIn account and populate a basic profile. Wednesday 15th July 20, 10.00am- 12.00pm

Duties

The course will cover the following: • A brief overview: what the social web is – scope and scale • Selling yourself: how it can help you land a job or win promotion. • Finding the right “buyers” for yourself and your skills. How to identify the best social media networks for marketing yourself. • Setting up a social media account – a basic “how to” guide to LinkedIn. • Content is king: why having a profile is, in itself not enough. How to post stuff to your timeline. • Creating content: what and when to post, when to comment and when to share. • Privacy: the crucial difference between private and public personal information and how to protect what's genuinely private. • Don't be rude: a brief exploration of social media etiquette. • Monitoring: how to monitor the social web and why it's essential if you're to get a return on your investment (of time)
